Seshat Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 August 2026

By using Seshat you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Seshat, and you must be at least 13 years old. Seshat is not intended for children under 13, and we do not allow under-13 accounts. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up; if you are under 13 we will not create an account, and if we learn that an existing account belongs to someone under 13 we will delete it.

Keep your login details secure — you are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Data & Safety. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which signing back in restores it.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into Seshat — the stories you upload, the words you save, and the meanings and notes you write.

You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, sync it between your devices, process it so the app can work (splitting text into words, generating lessons from your vocabulary), and show it back to you.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload content you do not have permission to use.

3. AI-generated content

Seshat can generate stories, word meanings, example sentences and lesson exercises using AI.

AI output can be wrong. Meanings can be inaccurate, example sentences can be unnatural, and generated stories can contain mistakes. Seshat is a learning aid, not an authoritative dictionary or a substitute for a teacher. Please treat AI-generated material with appropriate scepticism, especially where accuracy matters.

If the AI produces something wrong or offensive, report it from Profile → Data & Safety → Report a problem. We review every report.

AI features require your explicit permission and are off until you grant it. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent and to whom.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Seshat to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

5. Usage limits and paid features

Free accounts have daily limits on AI features. These limits exist to keep the service sustainable and may change. Where offered, watching a rewarded ad can extend a limit for that day.

Paid subscriptions, where available, are billed through the App Store or Google Play and are governed by their terms, including their refund policies. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your store account settings.

6. Availability

We aim to keep Seshat working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change or be removed. AI features depend on third-party providers and may be unavailable at times.

7. Disclaimer and liability

Seshat is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Seshat after that means you accept the updated terms.
